Have you ever - had a niece
So one day I just become an aunt when my mum broke the news to me from thousands miles away that we just welcomed a new member to our family. It was one of the weirdest moments I have in my life and of course I was super excited. To be honest, when I first saw her dumpling pictures I was like nah she is not exactly the cutest I am still better but, I was wrong.
Tada! This is how she looks like now. She just recently turned one and she is looking more like a lady now. When I first meet her, she was like a size of a papaya and I was so scared of her. Call me biased but I think she is the most beautiful baby that I have ever seen thus far. I mean look at her cheeks, I have always felt the need to hold her cheeks for her because I am afraid that they might just fall off cuz they are too chubby.
It has been a great few months with her and I have seen her laugh, cry, sneeze, poop, crawl, grow her teeth and until recently she is starting to stand on her feet and learning how to walk. I guess I was more thrilled than her when all these happened. I have always tried to be there and be part of it the first time when she learns new things. Every milestone in her life is like mine now. For those who are friends with me on social media, you already know that I am an obsessed aunt and you might have already have enough of her because of me. But I still want to share with you all some of the greatest moments I had with her and maybe they can also satisfy your kid-craving.
The first CNY
and the first time she was in her cheongsam and learned how to Gong xi and get all her ang paos.
The first time on the beach
and how she was so afraid of the sand and cried like nobody's business until she is okay with it.
The first time on the grass
and as you can see she was absolutely overreacting to it.
The first time on the bike
She was so excited and I was like please don't fall before I can take a good picture of this or I am going to get it.
The first time in the pool
and she was constantly making this noise like ohhhhhhhhhh and in my mind I was thinking that's her baby way of saying oh my god I am powerfulllll check me out.The first Birthday
She learned how to blow out candles on birthday cake and I was so amazed by how she can learn thing so quickly and effortlessly!
Of course, aside from all these happy moments, sometimes she can be quite a pain in the ass when she is throwing tantrums and upsetting everybody. But having her around actually teaches me to be more patient and responsible. I actually try to be at my best behaviour when she is around because I am afraid that she might take after me for the bad habits I have, especially now when she is like a little sponge. Nonetheless, she is still a bundle of joy for everybody in the house.
So here's to celebrating anniversary of being a proud aunt. Last but not least, I hope she grows up with the right values and be the happiest kid with the kindest heart.
