Have you ever - been to Avani Sepang Goldcoast Resort, Sepang

Avani Sepang Goldcoast Resort is about 50 minutes drive away from Kuala Lumpur city centre and it is perfect for a weekend getaway to break out from the city's hustle and bustle. The resort is made up of individual overwater villas lining up as a shape of palm tree. Hence, the resort is also known as Golden Palm Tree Resort.

Upon checking into the resort, there will be buggy service which gives you a free ride to your villa. There are also bicycles everywhere where you can use at no extra cost. If your room is not too far away from the reception, you can also choose to walk to the room.

We stayed in a superior room that costs about RM600++ per night. It comes with private bathroom and balcony with ocean view. Pretty worthwhile I would say.

I think the main attraction of this resort is this infinity pool overseeing the ocean. It is not a big infinity pool rather just a small one. Hence, it can get really crowded at times. We decided to go for early swim in the morning to dodge the crowd and we managed to get some pictures taken without having others photobombing us. There is a gym just by the infinity pool and a bar facing the pool. There was a live band performance after dinner time at the bar which we enjoyed a lot. Other activities provided by the resorts such as yoga, kite flying, batik painting, spin bike and so on. Make sure to check their timetables which I believe that they have different arrangements at different times throughout the day. Other than that, there is really nothing much to do in the resort apart from just chilling anywhere in the resort and by the beach.

There is no direct access to the beach from the resort as it is a public beach located walking distance away from the resort. Nothing much to say about the beach as it is muddy I wouldn't recommend anybody to swim in it but still a perfect place to enjoy beautiful sunset and sea breeze. There are a few restaurants within the resort and also some Malay seafood shops around. If you fancy, you can drive to the neighbouring town Port Dickson for other food options such as Lucky King Bun which is famous for their chicken or pork curry inside a bun locating just about 20 minutes drive away.

If you are into the overwater bungalows in Bora Bora, this could be your cheaper and nearer alternative.
