Have you ever - been to Starbucks Reserve Roastery, Tokyo

Just about a year ago in 2019, Starbucks opened its fifth Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Nakameguro district at Tokyo and this has become one of my main objectives to visit Tokyo. I was told that Nakameguro district is popular for boutique cafes and stores. The 4-levels Roastery is located right next to the Meguro river and it is about 10 -12 minutes walk Nakameguro station.

The moment you walk in the first thing you will see is this giant coffee bean roaster which is actually full functioning used to supply the beans for the Roastery itself as well as other Starbucks outlets in the region. There is also a smaller one on the third floor.

The next thing that will catch your eyes is the full range of Tokyo Roastery exclusive merchandises such as tumblers, mug and notebooks and etc. This is a heaven for all the Starbucks lovers out there. There is also a counter where you can purchase the freshly roasted coffee beans measured by grams.

Then we move on the the main bar where you place your order. The price is slightly on the higher end between 700 Yen to 2000 Yen. The price also varies depending on the type of brew methods. Some come with a combination of two or more methods and they give it a fancy names call the Brew Comparison Flight or the Roaster Flight for a different kind of coffee experiences. Exquisite indeed. That also explains why the main bar looks like some kinda of chemical laboratory. The connecting pipes above as you can see actually carry freshly roasted coffee beans around the Roastery to the bars. Other than brewed coffee, there are also some good seasonal selection of classic cocktails, wine and beers as well as tea.

There are also some pastries and cakes at the bars and from the Princi Bakery behind the main bar at the ground floor in case you need some to go with your favourite coffee.

It was my birthday on the day we visited and it was so sweet for the lovely barista to offer some coffee on the house with some sweet birthday notes! Thank you again for making my day!

Here's my little talented cousin who has been living in Tokyo for a while and speaks fluent Japanese.

Coming on the second floor, you will experience a totally different vibe from what you would have experienced before this - a tea experience. Tea is kinda like a thing in Japan and here you will find a bar -a Teavana bar dedicated solely to tea brewing with unique brewing systems and a wide selection of in-house special tea leaves. The best part - tea inspired cocktails and not forgetting the tea merchandise and accessories.

You will find another bar - Arriviamo bar at the third floor and this time it's a combination of coffee, teas and spirits that you wouldn't want to miss. I couldn't tell you more about it because we didn't get the chance to try as they were already closing when we wanted to. So share with me how is it like if you have already tried it.

Here's a wall at third floor made up of their special coffee cards. What's a better way to highlight the word "Tokyo"?

Lastly, there are outdoor decks at third and fourth floors where you can sip your coffee while enjoying the view of Nakameguro.

Such an elevated experience for coffee and tea drinking.
